In Dublin, we have exciting career opportunities for anyone interested in creating great customer experiences. Our specially trained Customer Solutions teammates, managers and leaders represent 40 nationalities and respond to millions of requests each year from customers all over Europe.
Over the past few years, our office has been recognized as a Great Place to Work® and one of the top 25 Best Multinationals Workplaces in Europe. A big reason we received these honors is that we do our best to make sure all our teammates feel at home and can develop a career for life. We’re always learning and improving through many coaching programs that allow everyone to grow professionally and personally. Our workplace is a collaborative environment where leaders break down silos and work to link hearts and minds.
While our day-to-day responsibilities are customer-focused, we are making a difference in our community by supporting causes such as Childline, Movember, Breast Cancer Ireland, and the DSPCA. And we bring our office together throughout the year by inviting all teammates to site parties and other festive events.
eBay Celebrates PRIDE
This year eBay once again celebrated Dublin LGBTQ Pride with a weeklong series of fabulously colourful events for all of its employees in the lead up to the Dublin Pride Parade on June 30th.
Staff kicked things off with a Make-A-Thon where they glam-and-glitzified outfits for the upcoming Pride celebrations and this was followed by a sponsored Lip Sync Battle. All donations raised were donated to the 60 second rapid HIV testing support group KnowNow. eBay Ireland employees then capped off the week by taking to the streets to march alongside the eBay Pride Volkswagen Van in the iconic Dublin Pride Parade.
The events were organised by eBay’s events team in conjunction with eBay’s Diversity & Inclusion Network, which is made up of a team of 19 volunteer employees. Their broad-based approach to diversity includes more traditional categories of race, gender and sexuality, in addition to less-covered areas, such as socio-economic and ability statuses. Since forming in 2016, the committee has hosted dozens of D&I events each year, from film screenings to fireside chats, to one-on-one coaching for parents returning to work.
In addition to events tied to popular calendar moments like LGBTQ Pride, the eBay team also uses lesser-known occasions such as World Refugee Day, International Day of Persons with Disabilities and Children's Day to bring a 360-degree perspective to diversity.
Derek Allgood, Vice President, Global Customer Experience of eBay said: "Pride Week is one of the major events in our Diversity & Inclusion strategy and is a huge extravaganza for us in eBay Ireland. Every year, our ever-creative employees organise some fantastic events to raise money for an LGBTQ related charity – this year it’s KnowNow. This is our 6th year participating in the Pride Parade and our employees love the celebration of diversity, as it reflects the eBay values and ethos”.
Allgood continued, “Diversity and Inclusion at eBay is about making sure that when people are part of the eBay community – whether they are global employees, people who are interested in working at eBay or the millions of buyers and sellers who transact on our platform – they feel included and know that great opportunities are available to them”.
