Seattle is home to several influential eBay departments that are leading some key ecommerce initiatives in areas like mega-scale services, data-driven development, and cloud services. Our office has career-defining opportunities open for motivated full-time Programmers, Software Engineers, UNIX Administrators, and Business Intelligence professionals.
In our office, we work in small teams and on projects that impact eBay’s core business, such as machine learning, data mining and building low-latency, high-availability services. Our Hadoop clusters are among the world's busiest and largest. They’re powering the next generation of the eBay search engine, Cassini. While our SEO and traffic teams are uncovering creative ways to bring shoppers to ebay.com.
Of course, we’re not solely focused on driving ecommerce. We also love playing Ping-Pong, foosball and video games in our game room, and our Social Committee plans teambuilding activities, team lunches, picnic BBQs, and our annual holiday party. We volunteer at organizations like Northwest Harvest, Habitat for Humanity, and The Salvation Army. And our GIVE Team has issued grants to charities like Village Volunteers, International Smile Power, and NPH USA.

Leading seller insights at eBay
The team of data mining and machine learning experts—many of whom also built and ran airfare price predictor Farecast, acquired in 2008 by Microsoft—have been working on new services to help eBay sellers tune their pricing to maximize sales.
This team, based in eBay’s data-focused Bellevue, WA office, is driving an effort to build tighter links between the San Jose, CA-based online commerce giant and Seattle-area startup companies.
“There’s a plan to continue growing the office, and there’s a plan to continue to connect at a deeper level with the startup and investment community here locally,” said Mike Fridgen, the general manager of seller insights at eBay.
