Works On Building relationships with third-party business partners

Enjoys Working with the smart, driven & down-to-earth people at eBay

You’ve held a variety of roles during your time here. What can you share about your varied experiences?

I joined eBay in 2012, as part of the M&A Strategy team for Marketplaces. I was fortunate to be able to work on several transactions, including our investment and commercial relationship with Snapdeal and our acquisition of AppTek. I later transitioned to Strategic Partnerships, focusing first on Seller Partnerships then Merchandising & Seller Partnerships, and eventually leadership of the Americas’ Partnerships team. The really fun part of my job is working with diverse parts of the business and leveraging partnerships to fill capability gaps and enhance the go-to-market strategies of various business units. Our team has a wide variety of background, from different company sizes (startups to large firms) and industries (healthcare and technology), to different roles (development, category management, analytics, product management, and more). We learn from each other so we can better understand our partners and advise the business on partnership strategy.

What kind of partnerships, and what is their impact?

Our team cultivates and formalizes relationships between eBay’s US, Canada, and Latin America business units and third-party organizations. We’re typically working on 80 or so deals at any given time, developing partnerships with leading companies for shipping (Shyp), marketing (the eBay app preloads on Verizon and Sprint phones), merchandising (wine with Drync, vehicle buyback with Vroom, warranties with Assurant, freight with uShip), consumer-to-consumer (FedEx), business-to-consumer (Inkfrog, Sellbrite, BigCommerce), and more. Our goal is to find partners that can accelerate eBay’s time to market or offer products and services that make it easier and more efficient for buyers and sellers to do business on eBay.

Outside of work, what drives you?

I love to watch movies, follow mixed martial arts, and read spy novels along with hiking, traveling, and horseback riding in my spare time. I also serve on the Board of Benetech, a nonprofit focused on empowering communities in need by creating scalable technology solutions.
