Welcome to eBay Portland, eBay’s center of mobile engineering excellence for the development of eBay Marketplace and the eBay Classifieds Group. As mobile becomes increasingly important to eBay, our office continues to grow, now numbering 200+ employees spread across four stories of our downtown Portland mid-rise. Portland is a booming, highly livable city with a fast-growing tech sector. And although our office is part of that growth, we still retain a fun and funky startup culture. Just like Portland.

Opened in 2011, our office expanded its footprint to 70,000 square feet not too long ago to accommodate the growth of eBay’s mobile software development activities for eBay Marketplace and Classifieds.
The eBay Classifieds Group combines the entrepreneurial energy of a start-up with the resources and trusted leadership of a major corporation. As the world leader in online classifieds, we maintain sites that span over 25 countries across the globe. Our sites help more than 70 million unique visitors per month find whatever they’re looking for in their local communities — whether it’s a job, apartment, sofa, car, concert tickets, financial services or new friends. Every connection made or item found makes a difference by creating a world where people share more and waste less.
That’s what we do. How do we do it? Very nicely: breakfast is served daily, cold-brew coffee and kegs of beer are always on tap (it’s a great way to meet and make friends with co-workers after hours), and we regularly hold game nights with a pool table, foosball, ping pong, and a stage with musical instruments.
Portland is a unique, some say quirky, American city (as seen on TV!). Comfortable, livable, and laid back, there are waterfront views, farmer’s markets in the summer, and delicious food carts throughout the year. And our office is within walking distance of it all, so it’s easy to take it all in, run errands, or just sit and enjoy the views and the people.
Our people are driven, creative, and fun. And also keyed into the larger community. Our PDX Global Impact Team is helping raise a $10,000 grant for a local charity and also working with a Portland non-profit to help it build a mobile app. And we just recently kicked off a quarterly PDX volunteer event.
