At eBay, we use BrightHire to support a more consistent and focused interview experience. It records and transcribes interviews so interviewers can stay engaged in the conversation while capturing key information shared during the discussion.

Your interview will be recorded and transcribed unless you choose to opt out. Where required, we will only record after your consent. BrightHire captures and organizes interview information to support the hiring team’s evaluation process.

BrightHire does not evaluate candidates, score or rank responses, analyze facial expressions, eye movements, tone, emotions, or other biometric identifiers, or make hiring decisions or recommendations.

You can choose not to be recorded at any time, and opting out will not adversely affect your candidacy or how you are evaluated.

BrightHire is a tool that records and transcribes interviews to help interviewers capture what is shared during the conversation. It supports structured note-taking and helps ensure key information is documented for review by the hiring team.

BrightHire is designed to support interviewers, not replace them. It does not evaluate candidates or make hiring decisions or recommendations.

BrightHire may process interview audio, video (if applicable), transcripts, interviewer notes, and limited metadata needed to connect your interview to your application.

Yes.

You can opt out:

  • Through a link shared before your interview
  • By responding to the interview invitation
  • At the start of your interview
  • At any point during the conversation by letting your interviewer know

If recording has already started, we will stop recording as soon as reasonably possible and handle any existing recording in line with applicable requirements.

Please use the same email address associated with your application when opting out.

Opting out will not adversely affect your candidacy or how you are evaluated. If you choose not to be recorded, interviewers will take notes manually instead. If you need a reasonable accommodation related to recording, transcription, or BrightHire, please contact your recruiter.

Interviewers should not ask you to share sensitive or protected information unless it is relevant and permitted by law. If such information is inadvertently captured, BrightHire includes controls that can help eBay limit access or redact information when appropriate.
